Founded by Jennifer Patten In 2009, Ugly Dog Adventures made its debut in the dog-walking market in Orange County, CA. Since then, UDA has taken the dog-walking industry by storm offering daily pack adventures for your furry family member. It is our mission to expand your dog’s horizons and help it become a better balanced dog by offering socialization, exercise, and training. We also give back to our community by working with local dog rescues to help socialize dogs for better adoptability.
We were featured in Bella Dog Magazine as a “Rockin’ New Concept in Doggie Daycare” in the summer 2010 issue and in the Orange County Register in 2021. Since the beginning we have strived to fill the void locally and offer a service for dogs where they could be socialized together and go out during the daytime while their pet parents work.

Jennifer Patten
I started Ugly Dog Adventures (UDA) to offer services to pet parents not home during the day. UDA was one of the original dog packs in the OC, before pack walks were a thing. Specializing in socialization and a safe place for dogs to explore parks and trails together. I specialize in pack management, large breeds and special needs pups. Deaf pups, tripods, blind pups, behavioral issues and aggression. I’m an avid Pit Bull owner and have a love for the bully breeds. I have 15+ years of experience caring for pets in the Orange County area. We actively work with local dog rescue organizations. Currently, we raise money through events for K9 Kismet Dog Rescue out of Long Beach.

I have plenty of knowledge on how to properly handle doggies of all temperaments, age, and breed. I feel blessed to be a part of your pup’s active lifestyle. As a pet owner of 3 senior dogs, I respect and understand that your pet means the world to you. I am committed to giving my furry clients all the love and care they deserve. When I’m not on a pack walk, I’m borrowing a younger dog to explore an outdoor adventure. I am also a dedicated volunteer in the Children Ministries at Saddleback Church. I teach Sunday school to elementary kids on Wednesday nights, and am a leader in Bible Studies to 4th graders.

Lover of dogs and mom to several dogs past, present and future. Grandma to a spirited and strong-willed Husky named Bash. My background consists of having dogs in my life since the age of 2. My parents trained me early to understand that if you want a dog, you must take the responsibility, and so I did. I volunteer for a rescue in Costa Mesa called A Home 4-Ever. I worked the adoption events, coordination of events, walked and fed the dogs, and did some of their advertising and marketing. Avid walker/hiker/runner for 25 years.

I am one of the pack leaders at Ugly Dog Adventures! I have been working alongside Jen for over a year now. I worked for Petco for many years before becoming a pack leader and dog trainer. My passions include dog training of course, being involved in the reptile community, and exploring California. I moved here from upstate New York 4 years ago.

I have been a pack leader with UDA since October 2019. At home I have my own retired service dog named Rocco who is a Rottweiler mix and is 11 years old! I also have a 7-year-old Pit Bull mix named Riley. I am currently studying for my bachelor’s degree in Zoology. I hope to use my degree to work in a Big Cat Rescue. I hope to meet you and have your pup join our pack!

Hi I am Sarah! I’m 27 and I enjoy spending my time outdoors and with dogs. In my free time I volunteer with a few rescues, walking boarded dogs and helping with transport to and from vet offices. I love the beach! I have a white Shepherd named Apollo who loves going on adventures with me whether it’s to the beach or to the mountains.

All my life I have adored animals. I was employed at OC Animal Care for 34 years and at the OC Zoo for approximately 1 year. I met Jennifer by divine intervention in 2015 and the rest is history.
