"Jake"
Hi, my name is Jake. I was a rescue through Hearts for Hounds rescue group based out of Long Beach. I found my way home through my buddy "Baron". Baron was adopted by my mom and dad. Mom and dad found Baron on Petfinder.org where Hearts for Hounds was advertising him for adoption.
Hearts for Hounds saved my life! If it wasn't for a wonderful woman named Bonnie I would not be here today. You see, I was a puppy in high kill shelter of Los Angeles. Not only was I just a puppy with no one to love me but I had Parvo. So, on my last day before the shelter staff was going to "put me to sleep" Bonnie appeared and rescued me. I was so happy! She not only rescued me but also took me to her veterinarian to treat my Parvo. A few months later I was a healthy growing dog and cured of that nasty Parvo disease. I stayed with Hearts for Hounds in Long Beach for over a year until I finally found my forever home.
At Hearts for Hounds I had a bunk mate named "Baron". We were friends for a long time until one day Baron was gone. The girls at the shelter told me Baron found his forever home. I was happy for him but sad for me. Until Bonnie saved me again for the second time! I was a very large breed dog and Hearts for Hounds only rescued small dogs. Bonnie called Baron's new mom and dad and told them that basically they could not care for me anymore because of the expense. A few days went by and Bonnie came to pick me up from the veterinarian in Long Beach where I was being fostered. To my surprise Baron and his new mom and dad showed up. My new dad picked me up and put me in the truck and the rest is history.

I love life with my mom, dad and brothers. I am the top dog in this pack. I rule the roost so to speak and make sure that no one messes with my house or mom and dad. I am very protective over my mom and dad and brothers. I have a very strong personality that cannot be broken. I am the boss! I also have a sweet side and love to lay with my mom and watch tv. I also love to ride in the car, go to Dog Beach and play with my friends in the neighborhood. Life is good!
